EGR valve

Post by justice »

92 Astro, Z motor...anyone got a picture of the location of the EGR valve? Is it on the back of the motor? I'm thinking of replacing the one on my 92 if they are not too expensive (i have found pricing from $60 - $150)

Of course i'll remember to take pictures and post how-tos of the procedure.

info please.
I have a ban hammer and I ain't fraid to use it!

On the V6, the EGR valve is on the rear right below the throttle body on the intake manifold. It's round with a single vacuum line port and is held in place with two bolts. You can't miss it.

Check out the information in these page on EGR valves. This should give you some ideas.

Consider doing the toruble shooting from that AutoZone page first AND getting a screened gasket as outlined in my EGR how-to, before you buy one... I know the vacume ones arent as expensive as the electric ones, but you might not have to replace anything..
