Need 1 more inch. Lifting question.
99 AWD.
AWESOME! I got the Overlands 2inch b-lift and shackles for Christmas! Its on and it looks good. But, I would like to get alittle more height. For the front I know I can just adjust the torsion keys for another 3/4 of a inch. But what do I do for the rear? Im only looking for a inch. Do I get add-a-leafs, then change the spring mounting hole on the shackle? I would hate to get rid of my brand new shackles all together and use just an add-a-leaf.
Also. I now have some moderate vibration due to the altered pinion angle. Should I just get the 4* shim since Im looking to get more height?
Thank you for your support

Get the add-a-leaf and adjust the shackle to the height you need. You may be able to go back to the stock shackle and this will rid you of your vibrations. Otherwise you will need to add shims to correct pinion angle.

Hmmm I still have not figured out if I have vibrations and dont know about it but I went the shackle + add-a-leaf + re-arch stock springs to get the lift I wanted. No angle shims used at all. Last week was up in the 160kph range and she shook a bit in the back but that is expected in rain with my AT tires I think Nothing alarming at all. Give it a try!

Not yet. I still haven't gotten around to mounting the 29inch no name tires. Also the weather has been really nasty, so my van is dirty as all get out.WVKayaker wrote:stomp13...Any pics?
My van is a all white LS, with the stock chrome steel wheels. So nothing special, but I will post pics.
Thank you everyone for the input, Im going to order the Overland add-a-leaf and shims Friday.

After you get the lift you want, don't forget a 4 wheel alignment. This is a must to help eliminate extra tire wear, reduce wearing out steering parts (especially idler arms) and eliminate steering wheel vibrations.
