I put a Lokar floor shifter in my 93 safari when I still had the v/6 and 4L60 trans. It came out of the floor about 2 inches in front of the seats. When I put the 350 and 400 turbo in, I went to the Gennie 26 inch swan shifter, with the 400 I had to get a rear mount shifter. It lines up to the same position as my Lokar did. Ive had a lot of comments about the hight of the gennie in the Van. Sorry no pictures, I blew no. 5 cylinder in the 350, I won't have any pictures until I get the new engine built and installed, but I flat love the floor shigter.

Yup, there are a lot of aftermarket floor shifters you could use. Lokar is one, B&M is another. They use cables as do OEM's after 95 or somewhere around there. Just be careful to install it where it won't make the already impossible task of removing the doghouse any harder...

I would like to see a picture of that in our vans. I don't know, I just imagine it sitting too low, almost like I'd have to stretch to reach the shifter since the seats are so high up.

I'll try to get some pictures for you, but it will probably be around March, I blew #5 cylinder in my 350, so the engine and trans is pulled, had to rathole for parts, but my engine building guru, has started to build my new engine, when it gets built and I get the new engine and trans back in I will post some pictures on what the shifter looks like. My Gennie shifter is 28 inches from the floor to the shift knob. It's the swan shifter, shaped after the old 40"s model truck shifters that are shaped like an "s" It really is "trick Looking" I reversed the shifter so it clears the doghouse removal. Even with the Lokar shifter I had dog house clearance.
