Re: Tran project- V8 stroker
By the way... anyone wanting to know how to convert their fuel lines over to #6 AN, just let me know. Earl's (Holley) has all the fittings and hose that you will need.
I decided to use an external fuel pressure regulator too. Let me know if you want directions on that.

I would be interested in these procedures. I am getting ready to do this job on my 5.3L conversion soon.
Thanks.

For those who are doing a carb intake, any of those will work with the 5 5/8 x 4 1/4 bolt pattern.
I don't think I still will make them work or maybe use just one and make the other. It will be very tight. Tom at Turbo City said that the Edelbrock intake I am using would not work because of the fuel lines on the front TBI. I don't like it when someone tells me I can't. So I will make it work somehow. Plus the only intake that would work easily would be the Offenhouser (sp) cross fire but that is pre 86 style block only.

Go to Holley website and click Earls. Get familiar with all they offer and how their hose systems work. you will need all 6AN size.astrovan98 wrote:I would be interested in these procedures. the main one you will need is the adapter for the supply and return lines. You can get tem from Summit.
Return line
EAR-991954ERL Fitting, Adapter, AN Flare to Metric, -6 AN to 14mm x 1.5, Aluminum, Blue, Each $6.25
Supply line
EAR-991955ERL Fitting, Adapter, AN Flare to Metric, -6 AN to 16mm x 1.5, Aluminum, Blue, Each $6.25
this you can use to connect to the fitting above. turn out or you can get a straight because you have a single TBI unit.
EAR-304606ERL Fitting, Hose End, Auto-Fit, 45 Degree, -6 AN Hose to Female -6 AN, Aluminum, Red/Blue, Each $16.95
From there you will use Earl’s hose and then another 6 AN fitting to the original fuel line. That fitting you will need to look up because I have not got that far. It is a 6 AN to 5/16 pipe.
Let me know if you have problems.

Jim-why don't you call Linenfelter to see if they have ever done a twin TBI turbo set-up??.I've talked to them a few times and they are really nice people to work with. They might be able to give you some insight with newer style engines at the very least.

Re: Tran project- V8 stroker
I got to strip the front of the Tran this weekend. I need to know how to remove the two wiring harnesses. I have not removed the dash yet but I’m thinking that it's from the inside?

Re: Tran project- V8 stroker
The nice shinny roller rockers are going back today. I can't afford them. My wife said that she needed a new set of dishes....
Nah, I'm just poking fun. The valve covers with the center bolt holes won't fit. I will have to order the slimmed down version.
Got done porting the intake which took about 15 minutes. I had to do a little grinding on the top side where the TBI's mount as the ports didn't match perfectly. I have connected the throttle plates with linkage and did some custom fabing for the air intake filter and throttle cable connection. I had to purchase the TBI spacers to raise them up for fuel line clearance. I think I have all the part clearance issues worked out now (or at least the main items). The new MSD distributor came in last week. Sweet! Very, very, expensive!
We got our tax money back and we had planned on installing cupboards in the laundry room (I would install) and my wife tells me that she wants me to take that money and get the rest of the parts I need for the Tran! She said she can wait a year for the cupboards... What a gal!
Would I be a butt hole if I took the money to use on the truck? I know, I'm asking the wrong group here...
The motor really looks great. I absolutely can’t wait to hear it run.

Here's the air cleaner;
For this being my first performance build, it has gone extremely well. I'm just waiting for a problem because I'm certainly do one...
