Yikes! That looks like mammatus hanging off the bottom of a cumulonimbus.... and if so, I wouldn't want to be there!

Actually, Astronut, that WAS a fun day, especially lunch. The mess cooks had swabbed the mess decks with some substance that made the deck extremely slippery. We were actually taking 40-45º rolls. It made standing up a daunting task. But we never laughed so hard. BTW, that pix was taken in the Gulf Stream. It's called the North Wall effect and occurs when the cold air and water from the North Atlantic meet the warm Gulf Stream water. Yes, I took that pix. I was in the Starboard hangar, braced in the hatchway. I tried to make the horizon level, but I was happy to get this pix.

Matt, those clouds were a freak. There was no nasty weather that day, only those (and these) cloud formations in a beautifully blue sky:

That carb set up was really wild and when the dude started it up it was loud. Rat rod guys don't seem to understand what a muffler is and this one had straight pipes on it like so many others did there. It was a great loud though. I asked him if he had any trouble with the system and he said it works great just a little hard on the gas mileage but other than that it was good. Since it was a rod and had a 409 in it and way more carbs than needed I can understand the bad mileage but then with a rod like that who cares about mileage?
1989 RS Astro, V-8 and maybe a shift it myself tranny, still deciding on this one. Dutch doors, Cad tail lights, shaving the rest now. 12 bolt rear end was in the van when I got it but changing how it sets to lower.

wow those eight webers are bdaz! probably just for looks but that set up can work well to tame 800+hp for street duty by using progressive linkages
