Welcome Graham. You have indeed found the best Astro/Safari site on the web. As you will soon see, these are a bunch of really good people. Congradulations on the "Safari". We Safari owners know they are far superior to the lowly Astro. :muhaha: :muhaha:

Thanks to one and all on your replys.
Can anyone tell me, if any one knows of a super chip to save on gas and better perfornance.
I have seen them on ebay, price from $8 - $25.
As gas in the UK is 2/3X the price of the US.

Welcome aboard. Tastey van, mate. Any interior mods?

A British expat friend of mine used to skip school and go down to the Cornwall coast and surf his kayak all day.

My family, The Mathew Stawells, owned Cothelstone Manor of Somerset(in the Quantocks south of Bristol) from 1066 to the late 1700's (when a step daughter finally sold the place #-o ). It barely survived The Cromwell Revolution (I got to hold an actual canonball that Cromwell's troops used on the Manor). (interesting tidbit about "Gun Control" methods of the period: The original drawings I saw of the Manor showed it with a flat, canon baring roof top with ramparts. After Cromwell's troops lobbed canonballs down on the Manor from the hilltops above, (and subsequently won the revolutuion) he would not allow them to rebuild the same way after the war. When I visited the Manor it was gable roofed, unable to defend herself from the hills behind her). The church on the Manor property had just celebrated 800 years of continuous worship just prior to my visit. Incredible history you have in the UK.(Yeah, I know, another frikin Yank rambling on about Great Britain!)

Thanks for the stroll down memory lane. I would think a Safari van would be perfect for the wonderfully tight single and dual carriage ways of the UK. Have you taken the van to the Lakes District or hiking up at Gordale Scare? This site loves to see pics of the vans on trips! (Hint hint).

OK. Time to get back to my remodel project. Welcome to ASV.

Cheers.
