rear axel questions
I have two rear ends one is from an 89 it has 3:42 gears the other is from a 92 and it has 3:23 gears. My questions are: are they interchangeable? and I also have a gov posi unit from a 93 - I know the 93 and the 92 are the same but can I use the 3:42 gears in the 92 with the posi unit?

Re: rear axel questions
The 89 rear will have different axle shafts. The carrier and gears are interchangeable though. So yes, you can use the 3.42's out of the 89 with the posi carrier from the 93 and stuff it all in the 92 axle.
The 89 most likely has 26 spline shafts where the 92 has 28 spline.
