
Can't say that this is a real problem to the vast majority of 4.3 engines, though. This crankshaft is from an engine that was dropped off at Bryan Engine Rebuilding and the business owner said that it's the first broken crank he's seen from a 4.3.

Rob,,so now that's over with,,,what's going on in the far north. You up to another transplant bud or is this really someone elses tragedy ?I've heard that the 4.3 V6 has a weak crankshaft...never saw a broken one until now. This one is from a 1988 Astro.

Something else happened here, it looks like an oil stavation problem and spun a main journal bearing where the crank broke.
