Look at the RPO codes located on the passenger side door. You are looking for something beginning with G.

GU5 = 3.23
GU6 = 3.42

Let us know if you have any other G code.

Damn??? Damn lucky, I'd say. I've had several 3:42 geared vans and 2 with 3:73 (GT4), and LOVED the 3:73s. They are more rare, so I see the problem. It's a good problem to have if you ask me.

The 93 front diff won't work on a 98. Axle shafts are different and not interchangeable.
Current rides:

2008 Dodge Nitro 4x4
2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S Special Edition

1995 Astro 2WD conversion 4.11 posi, shift kit, DHC rock rails - sold to Skippy
1998 Astro 4x4 D44, D60, NP231, full hydraulic system with 9k# Milemarker winch and snow plow - sold to Lockdoc
2003 Astro AWD all stock - traded for a 3/4 ton truck
2005 AWD, 4.10's - sold to skippy
