Back to my 2002 AWD :-)

Post by Logan »

Welp, I really want to do a V8 but, time just doesn't allow it. And I really, really wanted my AWD back. So, a buddy of mine owns a repair shop and with the weather he'd been kinda slow. So out of curiousity on both our sides, we wanted to see how worn my 365,000 mile 4.3 is. So he gave me a great deal to tear it apart and repair it assuming the heads aren't distroyed. So far, so good. I should be getting it back some time the end of this week! :bounce:

MY AWD IS BACK!!! My buddy took it apart and rebuilt most of the top end. He had to replace the distributor due to the gear being extreamly worn, but everything else looked awesome according to him. It had a full tank of fuel when I took it to him and we ran out about half a tank just from driving it around after fixing it and stuff. He changed the oil twice and added some Lucas stuff. I'm so excited!!
The best part, is that I was able to recycle all the old aluminum and copper in my basement to pay him! so, there's really no money out of my pocket for the repair. Should'a done it a year ago!

That's awesome Logan.

I gotta say you are the king of engine barter swaps and repairs. Have you done either a V6 or V8 swap with any money out of pocket? :D
