Has anyone ever run a Chalk Test on their tires to determine proper inflation at a given load?
Thanks, Jim

Not recently, but I think it is a good idea. Especially if a person is going to run higher pressures. You may find that sweet spot where the tire wear is still even and mileage (marginally) improves.
I think the last time I did this was on an '86 Ranger Super Cab running a set of 33s. Turned out i could run a very low pressure on the street for a good ride and normal wear.

Well Kid,
Only if you checked the way the paint disappeared from your tires tread.

Re: Chalk Test Anyone ???
I've never used chalk on my van tires....but if you look closely at the dust/grit on your tires, it's usually easy to see if you're running overinflated, which you may or may not desire.
Currently running 235 Goodyear DuraTracs and 41psi unloaded leaves about half of the outer tread block untouched when rolling flat/straight...but I definitely get feedback from every crack in the road. 35psi is plush...39, I slightly feel the side tread blocks on corners...so I think 40 will give me the tread wear I'm lookin for
For a dedicated offroad excursion...and I don't have far to go afterwards to re-inflate...anywhere in the 20's is awesome.
Put some chalk on your exhaust pipes tho to find the right spot to put the crossover for a good H-pipe
