I feel that the original system handled all the situations I put it through pretty well even backing a trailer through a snowy muddy lot and that was with the open differential. I feel that the Torsen is a major improvement, no more one wheel spin plus the front pulling i have no doubt it'll handle a slick boat lunch or the snowy roads i encounter (wish i could get one for the front). If it's truly icy and you don't have studs you're out of luck anyways
