Location of the EGR valve on 1991 Astro Ext Rwd?

Sorry guys but I'm not 100% sure where this EGR valve is? I need to clean it and put the new gasket in but it's hard to do the work when you don't know where the part is haha.

i think it is on the backside of the engine behind the TBI, on top if the intake manifold. You will have to go through the dog house to get to it.

Yup it's on the back of the TBI and looks like a UFO standing on edge. Don't forget to fleck the vacuum lines going to the egr solenoid. It sits on the passenger side valve right by the coil. Make sure that you don't push the lines on so hard that they pinch off the vacuum.

Awesome! I thought that was the egr valve but i had read that some were located to the left the thermostat housing. Any tips on cleaning it out? I know i need to get a screened gasket after reading other posts.

Usually some carb cleaner or degreaser. Try a tooth brush or small wire wheel on a dremel to scrape the carbon out of the valve.

Trying to clean the EGR will achieve only marginal results. Go ahead, grab a pry bar and open up the wallet. Make sure you let George get his sunglasses on first; he probably hasn't seen the light of day in quite some time. It'll set you back about $50, but you won't have to worry about it for quite some time.

$50 bucks? You wanna get me and EGR valve where ever your located? It is just over $100 for a new EGR valve in oregon. Going in today to see what I cant clean out.

I've got O'Reilly's here in Billings (and no sales tax, but you don't in Oregon, either). I looked up at Autozone.com ($50) and O'Reilly's ($72.99) and $75 at NAPA. Can't figure out why the difference.
