Re: Brainstorming Camper
you should look at some of the vans CCV has done on expo-portal.
Similar idea, pulled off really well

I'd also recommend looking around the home-brew builds on http://www.sportsmobileforum.com
and some of the 4x4 van builds on http://www.expeditionportal.com for ideas

Re: Brainstorming Camper
THAT was exactly what I was dreaming of. As always, I'm a day late and a dollar short. It is really cool to see it will work. I would like to see the inside to see if in fact you can sleep up there. I would like to add a "camp kitchen" setup that will go in the back for tripping and we can sleep up top. A cooler and some camp chairs too maybe. with the top down it will look and act as family mover, when we pop the top we can sleep. I think I need to get one of those fiberglass roof covers that was used and fab, fab, fab! Keep the great ideas coming, thanks again, Kelly

Check Costco in the states they had a cool utility trailer that pops up into a tent that 4 could sleep in. When it folds down it is about 18 inches thick with a rack covering so you could tie storage boxes to it. That way the whole van is empty for comfy cruising. The trailer is about $2000 I think you could easily spend that sound the interior of the van and adding a pop top is big bucks.

Re: Brainstorming Camper
Things seem to be slowing down here. What things are incorporated into your vans that you think are awesome, can't live without or should be? What about things you don't like or feel important? "Camp Kitchen" that can slide in back? Seen a couple cool write-ups in here. How about updates on what's working and what isn't. Thanks, Kelly
