NECO stands for North East Camp Out. A bunch of us have gotten together since about 2003 every summer to do a group camping trip. We have been to PA a couple times and around NY the rest. We stopped a couple years ago due to declining numbers. I would love to do another one this year.

A NECO at Letchworth State Park would be terrific. Memorial Day weekend.

Yeah they where held on the 4th of July week because then everyone was at Dean's birthday on the 4th.

Unless Firecakes is all in putting it together,might be kind of hard to do. :-k

My wife is gone most of the time in the summer. My boys and I kinda float around and check things out. One of the main reasons for getting the van! If there were something cooking here in the northeast, I'd love to bring the boys and check it out! Kelly

It would be hard to chose one if both another NECO was held where your boys would have plenty of activities to be involved in or to watch Skip fly his balloon which is just too cool to see all the hot air balloons fly there and that park is just gorgeous.

Zam-sounds like you have to start working on your passport.

Dean-really got to see Skip fly this yr and his van set-up.

The reason we decided to make the 4th the NECO weekend was not because of my b-day. It was because the Canadians get the 1st off and we get the 4th off for holidays. Made it possible for both to have long weekends.

Thanks, Gary. I'm well into my coffee now and thinking about as clearly as I can! The hot air balloons look awesome! My mother LOVED them and would truck us around to see them: most memerable were Montreal/Quebec, PA and here in VT we have the Champlain Fairgrounds, which does a big festival in June. I've had two land beside my house! They are seriously cool rides! Smilesafari, I'm jealous! Back to original hi-jack, if people/anyone interested in camping in the "area", let us know! Thanks, Kelly
