Forum upgrade coming

Post by justice »

In the near future I'm looking to upgrade the forum software from phpBB Version 2.x.x to the new Version 3.

When this is done there will be some things to note.

There will be more forum features
the forum should have a slightly different look and feel
it should stay nice and fast
it should be more secure

Some other things that are important..

the url for the board will change
there will be some time before new themes get added
you may notice the board being sluggish or unavailable when i'm converting the data to the new board

i'm hoping this will fix some issues that have appeard on the board since the move to the new server (mainly email and notification related)

There should be no loss of data since this board actually will not go away, but i'll be making backups anyway :)
I have a ban hammer and I ain't fraid to use it!

Must have posted at the exact wrong time
My new topic "full frame for SAS " under 4x4 on old site did not transfer
Is there any way to retrieve that string?
Otherwise nice and fast and lots of gadgets.

Yea, you and Gary both posted while I was trying to find the correct file to edit to put up the rediect message on the old forum. I went in and grabbed your post and have quoted it below. Feel free to copy it into the correct section.

Has anybody contemplated modifying an Astro to full frame for SAS.
I have noticed some cracking and resulting leakage along various calked body lines after wheeling on some washed out forest service roads last summer. My Astro has a 4" OLV lift and a Dana 44 HP, Ford 9" and S-10 NP231 are sitting in the back yard. I'm also in the market for a 3.9L Isuzu 4BD1T diesel engine out of a NPR truck. The added torque and the radius arm placement ( if I go with the coil spring front SAS from the 1979 F-150) might justify building a full frame for the Stro.
then Garysgifts replied...
I have to admit in this area I don't have any help for you.The mod for this section could help and I would think is out enjoying the holiday with his family.
