Power mirrors don't work

Post by PJorgen »

Just got an '03 AWD Safari. Power mirrors - both sides - don't work. Check fuses, all OK. Could be the switch? Anyone have experience with this? Difficult to replace?

I've noticed on my '96 that if I don't run the mirrors through their full range of motion for an extended period they won't work properly. Sometimes I push on the mirror manually to get them to work and then they work OK. Probably some corrosion in the motors.

The switch is easy, but spendy, to replace. That same switch also controls the windows.

Have you checked the wires going through the door jamb?
