I finally took it to a GM dealer, the mechanic said my BCM cannot be flashed because it doesn't use prom's.
I don't know why he'd say that??
I know my BCM is used in the US where the headlight disable is an "option", and threads speak of having it reflashed.
Is there a list of all options this computer can enable/disable?
Not my question, but I am looking for a "stealth- disable interior lights" option, as my interior lights won't come on.
It was a government vehicle.
Can individuals (non-dealership) have "flashing" ability?
Is there "third-party /aftermarket software" where I can reflash my own vin or headlight options???
Is there a diagnostic program (dealer or not) that can test every computer function individually like:
-F1 doors lock/unlock toggle
-F2 inadvertant relay toggle
-F3 chime test
-F4 courtesty lights relay toggle
-F5 horn (alarm) relay test
-F6 fuel pump toggle
-F7 accesories relay toggle
-F8 DRL relay toggle
-F9 Next page
-F10 Exit, and have a nice day
This sounds more like a "factory" BCM diagnostic, but maybe not.
I also service 2-way radios, this would be called LABTOOL software, and although it should never have reached the publics hands, we have copies too.
