Really? They cost from $20k depending on condition. I wish I could get a house for that much. I'm surprised they didn't give you a headset.

Oh I had a headset, but with a giant hole in the bottom of the plane it didn't help all that much. I bailed on that job after I found out I was a replacement member for a crew who died in a mid-air collision.

Bailed! As in, Thru the giant hole? Lol...

They conveniently neglected to tell me about the accident until I had been working there for a few months. I loved the job. I was very young, got to fly everyday and was logging hours behind the controls with the 80 year old flight instructor pilot. In fact, he was training me "in case something happened to him in flight!" I quit without notice.

Flying a plane is pretty awesome. I have also flown gliders. Those are really scary. The G-forces in those can get pretty gnarly. And being towed into the air by another plane.....talk about crapping your pants.

There are car accidents all the time. Doesn't stop me from driving.

HAHA! Wasn't trying to discourage anyone. If drivers on the road had to plot a course and get visual confirmation on everyone around them there would be as few accidents on the road as in the air.

I think what you're doing is awesome.
