Most just drop the tank. It will need to come down anyway since there is a piece of sheet steel over the pump assembly. It is wedged between the tank and body crossmembers. If you do want to cut, just measure off the seat mounts.

Ditto on dropping the tank, at least the first time. Some vans don't have it but that protection plate is thick and sits too close to the fuel lines to cut through and not mess something up. Drop the tank and replace the pump, cut a hole and toss that plate in the trash.
Or you could maybe lower the tank just enough to yank that plate out and then cut a hole.

Pressure. The plate gets wedged between the floor and the tank and the pressure from the straps under the tank hold it there.
I'm not sure it it can be pulled without lowering the tank all the way, but may be worth a shot. It's like 16ga. steel. You may be able to carefully cut it or peel it back like I have seen some do. It may not be too pretty. Sorry I dont have any precise measurements for you. Best bet is to cut a small peep hole and see where you land. Then cut a big hole in the proper spot. For me that electrical panel door fit right in between the floor supports.
Just one option if you like things to look nice when your done.
