Hello

Post by slowalker »

Glad to find this forum. Just bought a 2004 Chev Astro Van. Spent $800 on a new fuel pump, and now going through it to fix the obvious! Love this van! Hope to do some of the work myself. I will be making an access door through the floor to be able to replace the fuel pump/filter much easier. Will be using the Van to haul a tent trailer for camping, sometimes on gravel/dirt roads in BC, and hopefully take that long-awaited road trip across Canada! Would love any suggestions for tires......they don't seem to make an E tire for this.

LT tires help a lot with how the van feels.

I have been really happy with my Yokohama Geolandar tires.

Hey thanks okie1 and Astro Will! Appreciate the information! Just took my TankGrrrl on a small road trip, and it was awesome. I do need to get new tires. I am sure they will improve the ride! Anything else you would recommend doing or keeping an eye on? Enjoy the sun!

Sure, just general maintenance like good oil & filter, checking all the fluids. New tires will make a world of difference, buy good ones & they will last a long time. I went with Hankook tires and I am very happy with them. Just treat it well & it will give you a lot of service. :supz:

I always recommend an aux tranny oil cooler especially if you live in the hills and are going to be towing

Another vote for Yoko Geolandars. Love 'em!
