1988 TBI studders a bit...
Hey guys I drove my van for a bit yesterday. I had a few issues. Lets say that I am leaving a stop light, it will take off just fine then after about 2 seconds it will fall dead on it face I have to floor it to get going again. It sputters. I heard a faint whistling when it happens. It will happen when I am driving sometimes too. I hear a whistle, then a studder, if I am crusing I can back off the gas or step on it and it goes again. It seem to happen when the gas pedel is in a certin spot or the engine is under a certin load. I just put a new tps in it, and a new fuel pump. When I bought it the tps was missing. The check engine light is off so I am a bit stumped.

Sounds like the gasket between the TBI and intake to me.

I'll check it out, I thought it might have something to do with the map.
