Hi,
Are you using the Mity Vac kit to bleed brakes?
Good work.
2. The Tire a Rack price for Cooper LT215/85-16. Discover tire went up from $134 to $158.
The weight of new version is 41 lbs vs 36 for previous one . They must have beefed up side wall.

No, I'm using my wife. "Press." "Release."Astrophysics wrote:Are you using the Mity Vac kit to bleed brakes?
She's been a semi-willing part of my pit crew since I was doing open-track days before we were married.
I'll have to check those out. I still have plenty of tread-depth left on my Yoko Geolandars, but they're like six years old now. At some point the sun and SoCal heat will have their way with the tires long before the road ever does.Astrophysics wrote: 2. The Tire a Rack price for Cooper LT215/85-16. Press, realease? Do you have ABS?
I thought I read somewhere that you need a special tool to bleed these vans? I may have misunderstood?

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
As far as I've always read, power-bleeding is only necessary if air is allowed into the system. I was pretty careful to keep fluid at the minimum lines, and just keep topping up as we cycled the new fluid through. I can always take it someplace to have it bled again if necessary (and that would cost less than paying for a full flush), but so far it feels pretty good.nonhog wrote:Press, realease? Just did brakes all-around on the Subaru - rotors, pads, hardware kits and stainless braided lines. I also installed Russell Speed Bleeders to make it an easier one man operation to bleed after replacing the brake lines. They work really, well with the one-way check valve - attach a hose onto nipple, open 1/4-1/2 turn then just pump the brakes, add fluid, repeat. Well worth the $22 or so.

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
After 6 years of having no ABS and lights on my dash..... I had the code read and determined that my brake control module was bad. I pulled one out of my local pick and pull, cracker it open and re flowed the mail solders. It took 1 hour to install onto my van ......
No more dash lights..... working abs!!!

Hi,
Used some brass fitting to run a spinning water powered brush from garden hose pressure ( about 60 psi source) instead of connecting to high pressure washer.
This could be handy for scrubbing off mud and sand from underside of van after 4x4 off road and creek crossings.
Plan to test it next weekend . Caution ! wear eye protection !

Please let us know how it works at that lower pressure.

Hi,
I hope to test it this weekend. I am still looking for an in line soap container with garden hose fittings.

Hi,
Went back to Home Depot and got a plastic in line filter with mesh screen which I will remove so I can fill with soap liquid to use as soap dispenser to connect to garden hose spin brush kit.
Hope to try it out Sunday.'

With that setup, you may find the soap will all disappear very quickly.
A regular soap dispenser is ported so that only a small amount of water gets diverted into the container.
An in-line filter housing should be diverting all the air (water) through the container, in effect flushing out all the soap almost immediately.
I would be looking for one that is designed to go on the end of a hose, for a car washing application.
Good luck,
