I don't have the log in problem. It's slow, but I'm already logged in when it finally loads.

I see the same thing, 'Zammer. It's gotten to the point that I just leave if I have to log in.

It's never been slow for me in the last couple of months... Slower than corporate websites maybe but nothing unreasonable. Maybe a second longer than AS.com. I'm also always already logged in. Maybe I'm just special???

Even though I have the 'Remember me' selector checked, when the site doesn't remember me, that is when it is really slow.

Today it is not bad for speed, but I still have to log in everytime I visit the site.

You people are a curse!!
All of a sudden I'm now having to log in everytime!
Over the past several months, I've had to log in occassionally and just assumed it was due to some tweaking on the site. (I'd say I had to log in once or twice a month, but with probably an average of four visits a day to the site.)
I don't know what's up at the moment.

couple of things....
About the loggin in issues..thats a cookie issue. Search your computer and find the astrosafarivans.net cookie or one named astrosafar_forum. They will probably be in your temporarily internet files and may be hidden. delete the cookies, restart your browser and log back into the site.
about the slowness on the days mentioned. I just deleted over 40 spammer accounts (spambots) that had signed up on the days you guys were seeing the slowness. I believe that once these spambots register they then try to access the forum, all sections of the forum. I have seen this in the admin panel where there were only 2 people listed on the site but the admin panel was showing 10+ things being accessed. This may account for the slowdown that you were seeing.

Hehe those funny little web crawlers didn't even occur to me as the problem lol. Stupid spam spiders Does anyone have some industrial strength E-Raid handy?

OK, again I'm not having to log in. It was just twice on the same day that I posted above.
(As for cookie issues/cure, that isn't my problem. Whatever is causing me to log in occassionally is on the site end of things.)

Maybe my ignorance of web-things is going to show, but I am so ready for this forum to be moved to a real web space provider. I am a member of other automotive forums that have a huge active membership and I never see problems like those here. Things like slowness and intermittently having to log in just don't happen elsewhere. And I'm sure the other forums have the same problems with spambots--so what gives?
Frankly, I don't think that our provider gives a rip about us at all. Like I said, I am so ready for this forum to move to a responsible provider.
