Wow, what a great looking van!

Tent looks good. Definitely something to consider. $230 is a bargain for all the added sq. footage.

I can only hope that my van turns out that good.

It's basically a 10'x10' square. The website says it'll sleep six but I think that's a generous asumption. If you put six in there, there wouldn't be room for anything else. I think 4 would be comfortable and still have room for a cooler, packs, etc. All in all I believe it was a good purchase. If I had to do it over again I'd get the #83000 with the screen porch.

It is BLAZING hot. My daughter saw people at the Disney campground once with A/C in their tent!! Nice tent, BTW! =D>
I will second that. Summer camping in Florida is only enjoyable if you have a pop-up or other hard sided camper with an a/c. That is if you don't mind sweating and fighting mosquitoes all night long. I only camp in the spring, fall, and winter.

Oh, also Pete from your earlier post, yes the tent has a floor... \:D/

Uhhh, yeah. Thing is, Einstein, you need a running van to connect it to :butthead:

:muhaha:

At this point, swapping in a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine would be an improvement over what you've accomplished to date. You do realize that in some 3rd world countries, you'd have already been shot for leaving a previously perfectly-running van sitting up on blocks like that. No engine, no subframe, the poor thing's got its innards hanging out for all to see.... [-(

But see, this is where you are a bit short-sighted. I like to camp. And so what if I'd be 'camping' in the back of my dad's shop? Hey, you just have to get into spirit of things. Now granted, dad might get a bit annoyed when I light the campfire, but maybe if I offer him a toasted marshmallow, he will lighten up....

Now that really hurts. I mean, what have I ever done to belittle you?! Do I go around and make fun of you?! OK, well, nevermind. The point is I've been put on notice by my wife and have promised her I'd get back to work on the van this spring. Her goal is to have it ready for a multi-state camping trip this summer. I'm shooting more for a late August/early September completion myself....

Matt, I have friends out in Selah, Earl and Gloria Pearson. Their daughter Cindy is our age and one of our best friends up here. I'll drive out this summer, sip some lemnonade and talk Astro Van with ya. I can even get a wrench for you while you work on the van. You've been a lot of help to me so far. :)

T-Low, lemme straighten up a few "misconceptions", ok?

#1 Your services, while needed and surely appreciated, need to be offered to the actual
wrencher. In this particular case, that would be Matt's wife. Yeah, I know....

#2 Matt has given me a hard time about my truck for the last 2.5 yrs. He feels that my
selection of engine is "inadequate", lacking in the cubic inch department. Therefore, I feel
absolutely no tendancy to show mercy when teasing him about the lifeless mechanical
corpse lying in his daddy's garage

#3 Last but not least, Matt's been sending me inapropriate pm's in which he has declared his
infatuation with me. An infatuation of a rather sexual nature, one with which I'm less than
enthralled. Be advised of this situation before "dropping by" to visit him

I'm done :D
