i've been doing a bit of research lately into the 350 vs 383. the 383 is drawing me in simply for the hp/tq numbers. however on the other side of the coin.....seems its pretty easy to get 350/350 with regular rebuild without going the stroker route....arguably that would and should be more than enough power.....but looking at how simple it is to turn it into a 383 stroker....

i know you do a bit of off roading so that torque would come in handy. i have to agree with everyone that the turbo lag won't be too helpful...especially when in the back country. my little mazda has a turbo and it's great for passing etc. when it gets going but off the line....it's a total snooze fest.

having said all that.....if you need an extra set of hands with which ever route you decide to take i'll be more than happy to help out. just let me know. :bounce:

Sup dude! You know I still have not met you haha.
Works been super busy the last two days ... I have not been reading much. I might aim for summer since I have to get the ducks in row and make sure I have everything before attempting to figure how and where yet alone who to ask for help with the swap hah. I might be visiting Ralph's soon to see what motors they got kicking around.

sup abe. you know i've only ever met one person off this site. hopefully there'll be a meet or two this year where everyone can get together. well whenever you decide with whichever route to go.....oh, i was gonna say i've got a set of awd motor mounts kicking around if you want to just get a set made at a local shop copying those. let me know.

Abe the pick a part in Chilliwack will have engines cheaper than at Ralphs auto. Engines for a short block are $95 for a complete engine is $225. You would have to pull it yourself but that isn't very hard if you don't care about the car its coming out of. Just get the "saws all" and hack the mounts and away we go. Plus you never know what you might find while digging around out there.

I have not let the idea of swapping in a V8 slip my mind yet. Need to get my ducks in a row so to say :) Thanks for all who replied.

Kev ... did you get the V8 in yours yet?
Feel like if I am gonna pull together resources to get a swap going yours should be done first ... been talking about it awhile ago :D

the van I was going to do the swap in ended up with a dodge charger stuffed into the drivers side door and was a write off. So now I have a 99 touring edition so that put a end to plans for a swap unless the engine in this van blows up.

Need help with that or will you maintain your Crash nickname? PS I blew up my TB02 evo ... too much power hah ha. Gonna order some replacement parts. Have you and Sanja gone out to play recently?
