The actual mileage on this engine in unknown. The engine is not original, it has a truck dipstick. I bought this van in 2005 with 80K on it, it has 140 on it now. I know that the front driveshaft has the wrong gearcode on it (GU5, the van has 3.42s which is GU6), the rear end has the tell tale yellow paint pen on it from a wrecking yard, and it was rusty where everything elso looked clean, and a few other weird things. This was a Dexcool vehicle, so maybe the original motor overheated and was replaced, and who knows on the rest.
These are the thinks I've noticed, I can only guess beyond that.
The outside of the engine was grimey, but keep in mind it has leaked coolant and oil for some time which dirt sticks to. The road salt makes everything corrode and look like crap also. The inside wasn't really bad other than inside the intake which is a result of EGR, there's nothing you can do about that.
This van also sees severe duty all winter, lots of short trips, etc. It will be my beater in a few years, just don't tell my wife.
