Your dash blank has been staring at me from my desk at the bike shop I will ship it out tomorrow.

Ryan, thanks much! It arrived!

Update on wiring issue: first I plugged in a backup switch to ensure that the dim light on the 4hi switch was not the switch itself. Then went to the wiring diagram and determined that 4hi illumination wire was tan with black. I found this wire at the switch and determined that indeed this was the wire that was the issue ..... I used a jumper wire and confirmed this would illuminate the other switches the same way. I have every wire numbered at both ends and cataloged.....this allowed me to know exactly what pin it should be at on the Tccm plug..... turns out in my process of final cutting and splicing, for wire length, I failed and inserted this in pin port E2 instead of F2. Moral of the story catalog everything for quick fixes but more importantly don’t be a dork and do it right the first time ](*,)
All working properly again and my dash and kick panel are finally all put back together after 6 months

Well I completed the install to full working order in 3 days..... but I needed to trim the wires to a consistent length so I left things pulled apart. I have been driving it daily all along.
To be honest since I bought the van something has always been in progress and pulled appart so I am rather used to things pulled appart.
But yes it feels nice to have have this project buttoned up.

Congrats! I feel you. I went for
years without a headliner with bare metal (and a few sheet-metal screws sticking down) over my head, simply because there was work I was afraid I'd have to do twice. (i.e. get it done before the headliner went back in).

Hi,
There is a source of t case adapters in Utah called Novak adapters who make a nice cable operated shift kit for np231 . It may also work on np233C
.

Hi,
Called and spoke to Novak adapter guys in Utah. They don't seem interested in Astro t case stuff.
I am still looking at the np233C that I got from 98 blazer with what seems to be clocking that would cause front drive shaft to hit Astro cross member.
Or do I just need to take the transmission adapter off of my existing np136 and use that on the np233C to get correct clocking?
I don't want to notch cross member.
With daylight savings time and sunny weather coming soon, I hope to get either the np233C installed or find a np236 at pic n pull.

Hi,
Bought a np231C. Plan to install it in my 2003 AWD Astro with manual shift cable kit from JB custom fab of Oregon.
Marked the spot with blue tape where floor shifter will be located. And used 36" long piece of vinyl tubing to mock up the shift cable run from linkage going forward then looping back. The cable will be routed thru the bracket attached to transmission. Then end of cable connects to t case shift linkage,

Hi,
Here is photo of np231C transfer case that I plan to put in my 2003 AWD Astro.

@ Racrx7 and Captn.Crunch - I would love to have the option to run Low range in 2wd. This is mostly for towing in slower speed areas but on pavement. Based on what we know about the encoder motor is there a way to achieve 2wd low or AWD low?
It seems like a cut out on the encoder motor would do this but you guys understand what’s going on in side this thing so much better than I do.
I have looked around in other forums for np236 or np246 rigs but it seems that no one else is looking for this option.
Thanks!!

Ok, so after digging through diagram after diagram I see that the range selecting fork is operated by the same control lever actuator that operates the clutch lever. I would assume that this means that if low is selected that the control lever has already applied pressure to the clutch packs.... thus the answer is no in regards to the transfer case giving me this option..... the only other option would be to install a blazer front axle disconnect and modify it so that I could manually disconnect the front axle while in 4low. Likely not something I will pursue any time soon.
:-k
Any other thoughts reguarding this would be great!!!

My approach would be more old-school. As part of an AWD-acquisition contingency, I's investigating what aftermarket hub locks, if any, were available for the S-10/Sonoma to cross-port to the Astro/Safari chassis. I'm also used to manual-shift transfer cases, both chain- (e.g. NP231) and gear-drive (e.g. NP200FM), although New Process/Fiat Chrysler is adept at reliable electric-shift (e.g. the 236 and 246). My ideal 4x4 configuration behind the V6-4300 for ultimate gear strength? A 10.5" clutch through a ZF S6-650 and split-shifted New Process 205FM (the twin sticks for the Front and Rear outputs pivoted just behind the S6-650's cable shifter) into an American Axle HD IFS centersection (ex-K2500) and Warn 1-ton hub locks forward and 10.5" Torq Axle® Super-14 dropout full-float (both axleshafts flanged for a 6-on-3" bolt pattern) aft.

Hey Snowgeek. I just got your six-month old message. Sorry I haven't been on this site in years and no longer get notifications and the site won't allow me to respond via PM :-k Maybe you'll pick it up here. Did you get the frontend figured out? You don't need to swap out the entire front end, just the passenger side two part axle and tube. Feel free to email me at sierradittli at gmail dot com if you have any questions.

Will this process work on a 2000 Olds Bravada?
