ok.. i've been holding off trying not to jinx things. i knew that i should come back and update the thread though. soo.. here goes nothing...

on friday the 20th I talked to two more techs that suggested the ac delco cap and rotor. one of them mentioned some special delco injector cleaner. i called the girl i know at the local dealer and had her price it out. being that i was at the end of my short, desparate rope. I said put it on the counter, i'm coming to get it.

out of the box the cap is made of a different composite material than the caps we sell. i will stand totally corrected on that. the rotor was the same as ours. i had just under 1/4 tank of fuel and the cleaner (specifically stated to clear up sticking poppets) went in before i left their lot. it treats 20 gallons so i was really overkilling it. i immediately noticed better response and less hesitation on the 5min drive back to work. same for the 5min drive from work to home an hour later. and the following morning back into work.
that saturday i changed the cap and rotor and have ran that 1/4 tank of fuel down and added another $40. we've had damp or humid weather 3 times since and the van hesitated only once yesterday and it was only a fraction as severe as it was before. it still feels a little sluggish at times but isn't hesitating/surging like it was. even a small step in the right direction is a good one.

Glad to hear dude! That distributor cap and rotor is pretty important eh? OEM there for sure! ;p When I had my problems I went OEM parts to minimize any "but you did not use OEM" answers :(

Skippy-it is the special "do hicky" delco fluid.

when calling the dealer i didn't ask for injector cleaner .. i just said I heard about this "special poppet cleaner that goes in the tank" ...
