OK folks here are the results I worked so hard for! Still far from complete, but whose van is? Lots more goodies to be installed but none are lift related. So, soon I will be working on my official build thread and will be providing a lot of info for anyone crazy enough to go this route. Here she is:

Gorgeous, bro! And you're lucky you live in California, tires that stick out that much around here'll get you tons of 48 hour warnings.
Also, isn't it incredible how modding one or two seemingly insignificant items leads to a slew of additional mods and headaches?

I've got pics of my wheelwell mods. If you're handy with a MIG welder, I can post 'em up for you!

Looks AWESOME! :supz: It's always nice to know all the hard work pays off.

Of course now that it's done, it is too high and you'll have to dispose of your van. So, being the great guy I am, I will take her off your hands. Just have her shipped out here to NY and we'll see she is well taken care of! :muhaha:

Thanks folks!

I definitely turned a lot of heads today! Had many Strofari's eyeballing me with severe envy. Guys in massive lifted trucks were checkin' it out too! Had a lot of hot girls on Hollywood Blvd looking back at me as they walked by! Felt pretty damn good!

The steering could definitely benefit from a stabilizer. I bought one for a Suburban, will need to make it work. It drives perfectly straight thanks to the guys at 4WheelParts in Van Nuys, CA. but I would like a bit more resistance in the steering wheel. I should probably replace the tie-rod ends and make sure everything down there is tight! Thats what she said. 8-[

I would have slapped the bumper cover back on already but I have a massive brush gaurd to mount and I need to figure out how it's gonna bolt on first. Will probably need to weld on some brackets. I also need to hack up the plastic fender trim by the door to get it back on......if I can even find a way to get it back on! I cut off a good 3" behind the tab it bolted to.

Petey, would love to see your MIG weld fix for that. My welding skills improved somewhat yesterday during my encore welding performance......doing the shock mounts on the axle. Yes, only my second time welding! Didn't do too bad, the shocks haven't broken off....yet.

Future plans: brush gaurd with 2 6"X9" offroad lights, black and chrome composite style grille with billet GMC emblem, black reflector headlight and turn signal, spare tire carrier on the rear door, aluminum diamond plate rocker panels (up to the door keyhole), black paint job, 4'x6' hole in the roof with industrial roof scuttle doors, full length roof rack extending over the front windshield to act as an observation platform, scissor lift with Meade 14" RCX400 computer controlled telescope (already purchased) in the trunk, full interior roll bar since I will be cutting through all the roof support beams, and a new air freshener. Was hoping to have all that done by the end of summer......might take a bit longer for no other reason than $$$. It will be one awesome mobile observatory. See my sig for photoshop mock-up. It 'aint done yet, not by a loooooong shot!

Yeah, I don't know. Once upon a time I called it the Pu$$ywagon.......that's when I was rollin' with these bad boys on:

Of course that was for all but 2 minutes! Then I realized I was indeed inhaling too much California smog for one day. But for $50 they're almost worth it. Almost. :vom:

But ultimately I upgraded from the 1950's milk truck look I had goin'

This won't do anything for your full-lock rubbing. But honestly, who cares? They rub at full lock bone-stock anyways :yawinkle:

The van has a great stance height-wise, but like Petey mentioned, the tires/wheels hanging out like that can cause problems with the cops in many areas. (Mine included.)

Is it possible to buy wheels with a more positive offset to bring the wheel centerline inward? It may take a larger diamter to clear spindle parts and maybe custom drilling for the bolt pattern, but I wonder if it could be done.

Can't wait to see it when you get the bumper cover and brush guard on!
