how is that different then cell phones or cars with on-star and similar systems.
I've heard of the idea of solar roads before but that was the first i've seen a company actually prototyping the system i think it has great potential. Lifted and TimelessB one of the first things i thought about was snow and the heating elements was my answer too

That's interesting, but where's the prototype video? I want to see it go.
The only thing I don't like is that it still relies on fossil fuels.

In this case, the cool technology is not internal combustion, but the ability to watch it happen.

Indian car maker Tata hopes to have their 6-seater Mini CAT car on the market this year. The Mini CAT runs on compressed air (about $2 per fill-up) and has a range of about 300km. It also comes with a compressor which you can use at home to top-up (up to 4hrs). Prices start at around $12,700.
