The plan for the weekend was to do some yard work on Saturday so on Sunday I wouldn't feel guilty about going to a couple of car shows. After logging on to Facebook though, I found a car show down the Valley in Prosser I'd never been to, plus I knew there was a big R/C Fly-In in Zillah in between. So much for yard work! (Hey, the grass will quit growing soon enough since the weather is cooling down...)
Decided to take my Bronco since it has been feeling neglected over the last year or so. We hustled down the interstate to the show and here is what I found.
I see this Bronco at nearly every show. Sure is nice... too nice for me... I wouldn't be able to take mine off-road if it looked like this!
There was a pair of DeLoreans at the show, husband and wife owned. 80 & 81 model years as I recall.
Hers had some famous autographs.
His had a Flux Capacitor.
His also had this rare fuel filler door in the hood. They stopped making them shortly after they started when the corners of the hood (where the lid is) would sometimes crack during the forming process.
I'm thinking I should build one of these!
I left Prosser via the Old Yakima Valley Highway and headed to Zillah and the fly-in. Didn't get there til near 3pm and the flying was slowing down and ended about an hour later. Here was one of the planes playing.
Click here for a not-so-great video of this plane.
Found a cool old building on the way home; a great backdrop for a Bronco shot!
