2005 AWD, how much?
I have a lead on a 2005 AWD, GTRV pop top, westy type interior, 109,000 miles. Not sure I want to do my build all over again, but how much do you guys think such a rig is worth?

Re: 2005 AWD, how much?
I'm no expert, but we can probably sneak up on this number.
GTRV is getting what for the pop-top alone now? $8k? I don't even know what they're charging for interior builds. That assumes you can even get hold of them to do the work. Twice in the last four years I've been talking to Mike Reed about having something done only for him to drop out of the email and go radio silent for months. I don't think he's a bad guy, just THAT busy.
You might be able to get Mike to give you a ballpark quote or appraisal if you give him a very specific set of questions to answer about what items were done.
Given the work done and the relative scarcity of newer vans, I'd say at least $15-25k, depending on the level of the interior build. If it's a full GTRV Westy buildout with all the toys, you're very nearly into Sportsmobile-level of work. Just because our vans are smaller doesn't make the labor much cheaper.

thanks, I was hoping you'd chime in. The relatively low mileage 2005 is worth looking at alone.

well this is pretty much killing me... I just don't need another van. FULL GTRV buildout inside: double 6v house batteries, fridge, sink, 5 gal water with elec. pump, rear seat fold out bed, upper bunk, swivel passenger, Ricardo seats, tow package transmission, pretty new BFG ATs....

It went to a good home; $10,000. I rationalized my way out of it

10k? That is ridiculously cheap, seams like the poptop alone would be worth nearly that!

Ya, I told him that. He bought it "used" in '05 for $16,000, then said he put close to that amount into it immediately at GTRV. It was a killer deal, just wish I was in the market!
