Can you lower an AWD Safari/Astro?

I want to purchase and lower a Astro/Safari.
Does anyone know if AWD's can be lowered?

Yes it can be done to some extent but since this type of AWD used on these vans was designed to be used in snow and such it was not designed to be lowered like you would a BMW or other sports car. I looked into this a bit as I travel to New England yearly and wanted to know if I could lower an AWD van to use here in California then use some form of air ride system to rise it in the case of snow. Kind of an all around vehicle. Mark
