2000 Astro 2wd
When I put the Selector in D or R it revs up and wants to go(it'll do 40 mph without touching the gas pedal)...
Put it in Neutral or Park and it idles down
A little unnerving at Stoplights....All Gauges work properly....Sensor?

Unnerving sounds like an understatement.

Practically every thing has been replaced in the last Year...My MPG went from 20+ to 15....
New Fuel injectors
Distributor , Dist Cap and Rotor and Plugs/Wires

Cleaned EGR Valve and MAPI Screen....

Wow,
This is sounding more like a possible bad Grounding , the Grounding lugs and braids, should be checked.
AP
The transmission is the well respected 4L60 E,
Which has a couple of electrical connectors also.
Mystery continues.

I do have the Passenger side Headlight a little dimmer than the Driver side...Even though it's new...I checked the Ground coming off of the Battery to the frame and it is rust free...Pep Boys in Wilkes -Barre ran a new Ground from the Battery to the Starter 3 Years ago(after 30 hours on the road I wasn't going to fix anything!!!!!)
Besides those two Grounds, Where is another?
Thanks for the responses.

Hi Again,
I have the big printed $125 shop manual for my 2003 Adtro that I ordered from Michigan.
I will try to scan and post some schematics showing +12 VDC lines and GRound points.'
In the mean time you could try on line...
Type "You Tube... Chevy Astro ground points.
Perhaps the ground lug under the dash and instrument panel.
This is a tough one.

So I had an hour to kill waiting on a Homeowner to Help Me set some new Davits on His Dock (with a Bobcat of course)
And I started pulling Ground Wires off of the Firewall , Wire Brush , Lithium Grease and so on, both Headlight Grounds and last
but not least the Battery....Which wasn't bolted on correctly

I pulled the Bolt out...Wire brushed it (28 volt Milwaukee Drill)
.....Then dropped the clean Bolt into a Time space Vacuum between the Radiator and the Engine....Dug through 500,000 Bins
and found the same diameter Bolt....Although a tad longer...Cut it to fit....Tested it...and dropped it into the same Magical Doorway
into another dimension...( Did I mention I had to jack up the front end to get My fat ass under the bumper to look for the lost bolt(s) ??)
Found another Bolt..Cut it to fit...and Viola!!!! The Engine is no longer surging in Gear...Headlights go off in Park and Neighborhood
Children are singing Songs in My praise....Find out Tomorrow Morning if everything is still Kosher.
Passenger side Headlight still a tad dimmer...But I can live with it.....Thanks for the Help!!!!
Also did the ground on the Fusebox.
30 minute job.......2.5 hours ](*,)
