Routing restoration for 1997 Safari PS/HB

Post by Bret Schmerker »

:-k My issue GMC M11006, I found to my chagrin, has an incorrect and porous hose, apparently a Hydro-Boost-to-gear hose with the high flare elbow cut off, for the return to pump. I already anticipate replacing the gear-side crimp bands with proper high-pressure clamps, as the angles may be incorrect on the upstream side and I want the minimum possible risk of chafe. What course does the stock-replacement hose with cooler use; and which fittings are necessary to locate the steel cooler section of the new return hose so it stays put under vibration?
