I remember reading somewhere that some had issues with the front differential after swapping in a 4x4 transfer case. Anyone care to discuss this and what you did to fix it? What was the cause etc. Thanks , Mark

I remember someone said that after they swapped the 4x4 transfer in the front end didn't like it and it caused problems at highway speeds or something. Maybe it was when turning? I really don't remember the details.

well yes, a part-time 4WD drivetrain, when engaged, will understeer. That is one of its downsides, and an advantage of AWD.

The cause is physics and geometry. Front and rear axles need to rotate at different speeds while turning.

Part-time 4WD should not be used on dry pavement or at high speed. It should be disengaged so I don't see why it would cause problems on the highway.
