Power steering pump mounting bracket

Post by AndyV »

Hi all,
New member here. I have a weird issue. My van is a 91 G10 Sportvan (shorty) with a 4.3 V6. The part of the PS pump bracket that holds the back of the pump has broken. The pump is still attached to the rest of the bracket and seems secure, however the pulley is now squeaking. The van is my daily driver, so is it ok to keep driving it til I find a replacement bracket? Also, any help finding this mount bracket would be awesome! Thanks!

It's probably out of alignment.
The pump bearing and serpentine belt will now wear out quicker.

Have you tried going to the dealership parts desk? Online parts dealers? (eg rockauto.com) Tried the local junkyard?

Awesome, thank you. Yea, still trying different parts houses online. Will try rockauto for sure.
