Weatherstripping for the BIG side windows?

Post by Dobbie »

Hi - I'm at a loss as to what to call these big side windows (see attached pic). But I'm also at a loss as to where to find the weatherstripping for them. Can anyone direct me? Thanks in advance!

How do I delete my account? This forum is dead in my opinion.

You're asking about aftermarket stuff that was sold nearly 50 years ago. I wonder what kind of answers you were expecting.
Anyway, you're welcome to go anytime you like.

Or an RV dealer, someone that sells mobile homes and trailers.
Those type windows were installed by a conversion company when the van was new and the interior was built. If you have any doubts as to the integrity / weather proofing of those windows keep the van under cover until you repair them. If they leak water will destroy that beautiful interior. Once the mold and mildew begin you can't get rid of it w/o a total gut.

Sorry to hear you feel that way dobbie. You're also welcome to stay. Even though not very active this forum is a wealth of information.

I gutted my interior down to the metal and ran a hose over the van. That revealed the exact location of each water leak. It also revealed that the manufacturer had installed one of the interior window frames upside down (and of course the seam at the bottom was leaking). Then I sealed them all up, one by one, and tested again. The big windows are now leak-free!
