Plexiglass roof panel ?

Ok, after installing the sunroof, I am now considering installing a 36" wide by 48" long plexiglass roof panel starting from behind the first roof crossmember (the one that holds the front upper sliding door mount)
I want it to be flat against the roof, not a "Vista Cruiser" type.
Has anyone tried this ?
