Looks like a pretty clean van for 96. Definitely worth the 1250 as long as it runs good and the tranny shifts fine. Check the tires for sizes and make sure they are all the same. Check the fluids and take it our for a pretty good drive it you can. Other than that just looking over the brakes, idlers etc is all you need to do.

Kinda hard to go wrong for $1200. Even if it turns out to be a dud, you'd get more than that amount back in parts alone!

as far as parts are concerned, will everything be the same off my 95? like my ball joints that i put in my 95 2 or 3 wks ago? and the moog idlers?

According to http://www.PartsAmerica.com the Moog K6392T Idler Arms, K6291 Lower Ball Joints, and K6292 Upper Ball Joints will work on AWD Astro/Safaris 1990-2005.
