High Fan not working

Post by Jeff3298 »

My fan is not working on High only, it works fine on low or medium but not high.

Is there a high fan relay or is the fan switch bad or???

Where would the relay be located if there is one?

Thanks

Possible problems that could cause this:

1) The knob for the fan switch is damaged internally (this happened to me and after checking everything else I pulled it off and saw the crack where the post sticks in).

2) Fan relay. This is in the engine compartment. Locations vary so trace the wires back from the fan in the engine compartment and they will lead you to the relay.

3) Broken switch. This would be the last thing I would want to check.

Solution is simple. Your high-speed relay is kaput. It's located above your fan in the engine compartment. However, the part is only available from the stealership for about $30.00.

Ok, I called two dealerships and both had no clue what I was talking about. I explained to them what was happening and I asked for a High speed fan relay and the only thing they kept coming up with is the augilary(sp?) relay for heat/ac in the back of the van or the fan switch.

Does anyone have a part number for a High Fan Relay?

I think you'll find the high speed relay is on the resistor board as a single unit. Follow the wires from the blower motor and it plugs right into it.
