okay here is an old myth does running your air conditioner in your car or truck use more gas? some people say put down the windows in town where the speed is below 40 mph and put windows up and use a/c with speeds 40mph and above. so what you all think?

Re: gas milage
Based on the numerous testing runs done by people on http://www.GasSavers.org using ScanGaugeIIs I'll have to agree that myth, although I have not conducted the experiment using my vans yet.

Re: gas milage
Myth busters did a show on that once and their experiment with 2 vans showed that windows open = good in town but the increased drag at highway speeds from the windows open negated any gas savings versus running the ac.
