Does any one know when the proportioning valve depressor (Part #J-35856) is used?
Thanks all!
Peppy!

It is used to recenter the piston inside after brake components have been changed or after bleeding. Do you have a brake warning light that illuminates on your dash? Have you performed any brake work recently?

The proportioning valve works by equally proportions of line pressure to the front/rear braking circuits, so that the brakes work properly. It allows for just a small bit of bias toward the rear brakes, so that they lock up before the front brakes, allowing for a bit of steerability before an accident that would happen if the front brakes were locked, being forced in the straight forward direction towards whatever obstacle reaches out and grabs your underpants, pulling them deeply into your wrecktum.
