This is a hot rod that I always wanted to build, but never found the money to do it.A real sleeper in every way. It's a Crown Corvair with a V8 mid-ship.Drives like it is on rails with the vett like swing rearend and hooks like a funny car with the wt in front of the rear wheels. You cut out the pan where the rear seat is and install a
V8 and Crown supplies a engine cover that is in part the front seats. This thing just runs like a jack rabbit.

Take a look:

ScottS-check out Rick Noriss's link.Man first class all the way!!!.

Best part was when you cut out the floor pan and take out the pancake 6-then add in the V8,you could still end up with a car that wt's less than 2400lbs.Super Gas drag cars wt is around 2350 and run 9.90.Yeah these things could run with only 300hp.

Yeah, I remember those swaps from the mid '70's.... they were little rocketships at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI.

Hy Gary, remember the 'good cars' from AMC??? The 69 & 70 Javelin/AMX's?? The Rebel Machine??

Yeah Jim it may be my way of saying to Ralph Nadder kiss my :butthead: :butthead: He killed these car before and I would love to take him for a ride in one of these. :muhaha: :muhaha:

But I got to admit,if you hit something without a rollcage/renfocements,it would be a rolling coffin. :yikes: :yikes:
