Two days ago while driving home my alternator died, and all of a sudden my idle is super high. I installed a new alternator a nd still high idle in P or N
gears. I swapped out the IAC valve and the idle went from 3000 RPM
to 1900 RPM (in P or N gears only) when the trans is in any drive gears or reverse it runs fine at about 1000 RPM. Anyone know what the RPM is suppose to be in P or N ?
high idle in P or N anyone have a fix?

DJ,
Just a thought. You could try to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery.
I think there is idle spec on the sticker on the rad support.

It turns out I have a bad fuel injector, whether that could cause this problem is unclear at this time.I will try another injector tommorow am.
