I know they have different tail light regulations in Europe. Did you make the changes to the back of this van?

I believe,(Derek please correct me if I am wrong) that in Europe they require ORANGE signal/indicator light and it looks to me that where we have clear reverse lights Derek's vans have orange signal lights. The lights on the bumper are for fog on the drivers side and I am guess a reverse light on the other side. Did I get that correct? Probably needed to be that way when imported, and or sold.... I kind of like the orange indicators - that might be a idea for easy modification, and then install some new reverse lights in the bumper!

yes, you're right!

in germany we have to use orange signal lights when the car is built after '94...
in my other astro there are some orange bulbs in the backlight for the turn signal.
our short astro has got the red ones like you use them, its only possible because the car ist old enough.

the bumper is an export-bumper for europe. it started in 1994 when the first astros came to germany by official dealers. you see the german number-plates? because of the measures it's necessary to have these bumpers. on my other van i've got an short number so it fits into the usual place for the number plate.

so i personally did not change anything at the back, it's just an european model... ;-)

at the backside you kan see the lpg-tank. this car runs with autogas (liquid petrol gas) its very unusual in your country, isn't it?

The use of LP is very unusual here in the USA. We use it on fork lifts in industrial applications a lot and many of them run the 4.3L V-6. It is also used on some delivery trucks.

What is the radiator/cooler under the front bumper in this pic?

the cooler is an additional transmission-cooler.

at most of the german highways there is no speed-limit, so usually we drive a little bit faster.
without an extra-cooler you may have some trouble. my usual speed at the highway is about 80 mls and a lot of time i've got an trailer with me...
