reverse

Post by midnighthunder89 »

so after just spending 800 on the van again I was driving it and now i don't have reverse. Is this the transmission or is it possible it is just a little thing that may be cheap. if things keep going like this the van will be sold or driven off a very large cliff :axe:

Quick net search says the sun shell is toast. Time for a rebuild.

Not sure if you want to make the drive, but this guy is cheap.

I hate this as you may know I have had this tranny rebuilt 3 times already. I will drive it till i can't drive anymore and then I will see if any of you want to buy it for parts or just the fun of destroying it. Maybe i could get a winch put that on the back then when i need to back up i just hook up to something and winch out

Do you know if any of the shops replaced the sun shell? Sun shell replacement is not part of a normal rebuild, just inspect and reuse. Net shows that they have a history of stripping/breaking. Upgraded aftermarket ones are available.

Hmm, BA/BE Rally. No team members, van currently can't pass emissions, good van needs it's trans rebuilt. I want to, but it's not looking good. I should post some fliers at the local jr college, maybe get some of the auto tech guys on board.

do you know any one out of IL that you could register the van in i know mi doesn't have any emissions yet. The jr college sounds like it could work but there has to be someone close to you that if they found out about it would want to do it. well maybe you will get there in a year, when i will most likely be there.

My parents live outside of the Illinois emissions zone, maybe I'll move the registration there. Wonder how much that costs.

You would think I could find some auto/travel nuts in the Chicagoland area, but so for my forum postings haven't resulted in any takers.
