New Guy

Post by CAWD 99 »

Just bought my first astro, '99 AWD Cargo and love it. Seen this site in 4 Wheel Mag and think it will be useful. Has anyone switched transfer cases with a blazer or S-10. How did it go?

Welcome. Look around, the number of mods boggles the mind.

Hey, welcome to the site. Yeah, I certainly have found ASV to be quite useful and the members ar every helpful.

I swapped a Tcase from an s10 Blazer, electronic shift. My thread has some BS on the first page and really starts to show pics into the 2nd page. It went fine. I used my same driveshafts. The only issue was the clocking was different so the front shft hit the crossmember. We fixed it.

Here's the origninal swap thread I followed:

Here's the swap to manual shift:

I think in my thread i linked to a site that has a list of transfercases and vehicles that the will be found in, so you can tie that in with the other swap info on the other two threads.

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask more questions. Hope that helps get you started. I'm afraid thats as helpful as i can be during a Red Wings playoff game. :)
