Hey guys, we decided to go the other way with the van.
Tell me what you think.
Image

OK OK I was kidding.

We ran into a little problem.

I was trying to Jack the van up and it decided to shift. Once one of these things starts going there is very little stopping it. luckily the only thing that happen is busted a fog lamp and cracked the trany dust cover.

Had another set back.
Left with the family for a couple hours and came up to what our dog did. I think he is upset with me.
Image
I was able to fix it up.
Image
Went out and got some larger sheets of 3/4" plywood and 24" 6 ton stands. Got it back up in the air so I can work on it.

Set the axle back under to see how things lined up. I need to get this thing another 6" in the air to get these springs to get in there.

Ok got some pics in before it started storming.

I think this thing is too HIGH!

This is temporary because we need to move this thing around. Say 5 hours away. We are moving. So I had to get this thing set up to put on a trailer. Plus this gives me a great idea what I need to do to make it a good 4x4. 27" just behind the front tire to wheel well.

Found some "parts" for the van. I'm throwing in a twist with the SAS.

Vacancy!!!

My Friend who helped me pull the engine took this truck through the JY to put the engine in his bed. He went back for his truck and it was taking him a long time. Finally my phone rang and it was him. He was wedged between two cars and couldn't get out. With a little coaching I was able to back him out of there and redirected him with over a foot of space between him and the cars. :-s

I got it home.

Next step for this part is to take the trany off and rebuild it. Also go over the engine. Pull the plugs and read how each cylinder was working and check a few main and connecting rod bearings. The truck had 171,114 or the clock. This is going to be fun.

I am going to use the 241 I took out of the 93 pick-up with the engine and trany. I should have almost 6" between the front pumpkin and the cross member. Should be plenty of room.

UPDATE:

Not much has happened from when I took those pics. Everything is in the same place as I left them.

One problem I'm running into is $$$$$. Right now we are saving all our Funds to buy a really nice big house. The closing is July 1 (yes the NECO week) and we need all the down payment we can dish out.

Once we get this place I can really start on building and moding this thing. I'll have a garage to store and work out of. It will be 4" too low for the "ROCK". Maybe if I get a set of low profile truck wheels it may fit. At least I will have a hard flat surface to work on. So keep watching for what happens after the NECO. Stuff really should start happening then.
